WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT

In today’s workplace, employees are being asked to do more with less. This reality just adds to the normal conflicts that arise during a typical workday. If unresolved, conflicts can escalate even further, taking productive time and energy away from getting work done.

Psychological Associates’ WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT gives participants the insights and techniques needed to resolve disagreements without being disagreeable. In this one-day workshop, students learn an effective process for dealing with the most persistent conflicts so that the people involved can address issues and explore resolutions they may not have thought possible.

Objectives

WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT helps participants:

  • Define conflict to help approach each situation effectively and appropriately
  • Learn how to interpret behavior around the ways others respond
  • Practice a process for resolving conflict that gets everyone back on track
  • Minimize the negative impact of unresolved differences
  • Apply the learned skills to a real-life work situation.

How It Works

WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT uses a “learn by doing” format that actively involves each participant, keeping the experience relevant and rewarding. Concepts and skills used during the workshop include:

  • Incorporating a real-life conflict situation, on or off the job, that needs to be resolved
  • Role-playing the conflict resolution discussion to practice the process
  • Sharing and receiving specific feedback to help develop a personal action plan that contributes to an open and collaborative work environment.

Results

Participants in WORKING THROUGH CONFLICT apply learned skills to a specific issue they want to resolve, while learning how to manage conflict, achieve better results on the job, and build enhanced working relationships.
